Dr. Anita Rumage

Dr. Anita J. Rumage is a professional administrator with a distinguished track record of dedication and commitment. She specializes in not-for-profit leadership, serving for 20 years as a non-profit child care Executive Director and 6 years as Executive Director in the domestic violence field. She has experience with fee-for-service and payment-free client services, public policy and government and private grant administration. Anita has demonstrated talent for working with diverse organizations and all levels of management.
Anita earned a Bachelor’s degree in human relations, a Master’s degree in early childhood administration, and a Doctorate degree in public administration. In addition, Anita is a graduate of Highland Community College’s Leadership Institute and earned Northern Illinois Center for Nonprofit Excellence’s Nonprofit Leadership Certification. She is a recognized HR professional with a Six Sigma Green Belt and holds a SHRM-SCP. Her main research interests are nonprofit and early childhood workforce stability, nonprofit leadership transitions, and compensation strategies. Dr. Rumage was instrumental in creating the foundational research for the Smart Start Project of the Illinois Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development.
