The Maine Child Care Employment Award Evaluation Report evaluates a two-year pilot program providing child care benefits to educators employed in licensed child care programs. Conducted in partnership with Maine’s Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS), the evaluation finds meaningful financial and quality-of-life benefits for participating educators. However, the program quickly reached capacity, ultimately serving only 11% of eligible educators and placing others on a waitlist. CELFE estimates that approximately $15 million would be required to serve all eligible families.
