Overview
Maine is taking significant steps toward achieving its early childhood goals through the development of a cost model as part of their PDG B-5 funded activities (grant #0TP0097).
A cost model estimates the costs associated with providing early childhood education and helps states better understand what ‘adequate funding’ is and where to consider investments to best meet the developmental needs of young children. The Center for Early Learning Funding Equity will be engaging in extensive data gathering and analysis to build a cost model that captures the costs of providing care at different levels of quality across program settings and geography. However, our results are only as good as the information we gather.
